"Taylor is an amazing trainer. She holds not only your dog but you accountable for training. She was there if we had questions or needs and she truly took the time to understand us, our dog and the situation."

"I was at a loss with my rescue. He came from a rough past, and he was filled with anxiety. Taylor has helped us both build confidence together and accomplish things I never thought possible. We are both better for it, and he will have a better life because of the training. I'm thankful every day for Taylor and what she has done for Bear and our family."

Head Trainer/Co-Founder

Taylor was born and raised in the small town of Newberg, Oregon. Originally pursuing Veterinary Science out of high school, she has always had a passion for animals.

She has worked at multiple dog boarding and dog daycare facilities and originally started her training career by helping friends and family train their personal dogs using purely positive reinforcement training methods.

Since then, she has gone on to intern and learn from some of the top trainers from across the country using balanced training methods. She has completed multiple certification programs and is always striving to continue learning so she can provide the best for her clients and their furry friends.

Taylor currently lives in Portland, Oregon with her three dogs, Trask, Ukiah, & Knox.

Sandy was born and raised in Oregon. She has always had a passion for teaching and animals.

These traits were planted at a young age as her family rescued retired greyhounds. Observing these super athletes has guided her to her newest passion, canine agility sports.

Helping dogs and humans alike is what drove her to start The Barracks K9 LLC.

Sandy currently lives in Sherwood with her husband and four dogs (Cap, Psyren, Pepper, and Loki.)

Like a lot of people, Justin started with pets at home at a very young age. Which was amplified by his mother’s occupation as a groomer. His passion and love for animals continued into adult life.

Enter Captain “Cap” Jake. Cap is a German Shepherd that Justin and Sandy got from a local rescue. Justin has owned numerous dogs, from Cocker Spaniels to Old English Sheep Dogs to an American Akita, yet Cap was different. Cap not only did anything you would ask, but he also made it look easy. It was at this point Justin knew he needed to increase his knowledge to match Cap’s potential. Since then, he has actively sought out some of the best trainers in the game to learn from.

Being a proponent of continued education has not only greatly improved their relationship, but it also allows Justin to provide others with the tools to create better bonds with their furry family.

Training Intern/Social Media Manager

Bree was born and raised in Oregon. She has always had a love for animals and nature; from raising geckos, guinea pigs, cats, dogs, and even dabbling in aquatic animals. Bree has a very diverse background working with and raising pets. She is also an artist; experienced with traditional forms of artistry, digital media, and graphic design.

Oliver, her one year old Golden Retriever, is what brought Bree to The Barracks K9 (TBK9). While trying to correct a couple of Oliver’s quirks, she found her drive for training flourish. This drive rewarded her with the first ever internship position at TBK9. Bree will be learning\training alongside the team. Ultimately her goal is to become not only an animal advocate, but a well respected professional in the K9 world.

She will also be managing social media, capturing photos and video, and all other forms of digital communication for TBK9.
